Marta Jabłońska
Making friends

Marta Jabłońska

Making friends

Sep 7 - Nov 3, 2024

Marta's work often reflects the convergence of external stimuli and internal reflections. Paintings become temporary decorations of her room, informing her about the most vibrant aspects of her current state. The process of creating these pieces, be it inspired by walks in the park, interactions with objects, or the simple act of sitting and observing allows her to delve deeply into Marta's subconscious.

Close, not closer

Sep 7 - Nov 3, 2024 (Uitstalling Villa)

In her work during artistic residency, Anna plans to touch on the topic of generational trauma, inspired by the history of the Genk mine and current world events. In addition, her residency will focus on the topic of closeness and loneliness. She leaves room for inspiration to emerge during the residency (hopefully).

Maja Kozłowska

Let the sun set

In residence

Maja's works delve into the phenomenon of the vanishing ability to communicate, existing "next to each other" while the "She," the observer, occupies the role of the "She" in the present moment.

For Maja, the creative process is also a return to childhood, to the point when the world/relationships begin to disappoint us, leading to a sense of shame that we are human.

Man Moved Mountain

June 23 - July 28, 2024

An's captivating showcase revives the beauty of Limburg and Genk's landscapes, a century after renowned landscape painters flocked to Genk, meeting at the Station d'Artistes. Over the years, the arrival of coal mines transformed these landscapes, replacing their romanticized beauty with the harsh realities of industry. Yet, An's work reveals that these landscapes remain beautiful and romantic.
